How to get AI to recommend your business

When someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Perplexity “who fixes dryers near me?”, the AI searches the web and recommends the businesses that trusted sources describe the same way, again and again. 1. Claim and complete your Google Business Profile, then Bing Places

Google’s AI answers and Gemini lean on Google Business Profiles. ChatGPT and Copilot search with Bing, so claim Bing Places too (it can import everything from Google in a few clicks). Fill in every field: services, the towns you serve, hours, photos.

2. Use the exact same name, phone and address everywhere

AI assistants decide who you are by matching you across websites. “Smith Appliance” on Google, “Smith Appliance Repair LLC” on Facebook and an old phone number on Yelp can look like three different businesses. Pick one version and fix the rest.

3. Get reviews that say what you fixed

“Fixed our LG dryer that wasn’t heating, same day” matches the questions people ask an AI. “Great service!” doesn’t. When you ask for a review, ask the customer to mention the appliance and the problem.

4. Say it plainly on your own website

One page per service (appliance repair, dryer vent cleaning, used appliances), the brands you work on, and every town you serve, written as plain sentences. AI assistants quote clear sentences; they skip vague marketing.

5. Be listed, and verified, by sources AI assistants read
